When I bought the Demon it had the cannister up front that the fuel tank vent was routed to. I have now eliminated the cannister. Where do you guy's run the vent to that don't have a cannister? Mine will start at the gas tank so it can go anywhere that is needed.

If you wish to remove or not use the vent line, remove completely and plug it at the rear of the car at the tank. You can also plug the line as long as its not disconnected at the tank up front at the canister,Mrmopartech

What I was thinking about but wasn't sure if it'd have issues was run a hose up higher then the tank with a vent style end on the hose. Or would I get raw fuel comeing out?

Wasn't the "cannister" at the front basicly just a charcoal filter to allow the gas fumes to have a place to expand out thru but not have "emissions"? And now if you plug it can't that cause fuel supply issues because there wont be a way for the air to get back into the gas tank as your driving along consuming huge quantities of fuel with our old gas guzzlers?

That's what I was worried about krabysniper. I was thinking that you could possibly run a line back up to the filler neck. I worry about blowing myself up trying to install that though. As long as your gas cap doesn't seal tight then terminating the vent hose would not be a problem. I will have to look and see if the gas cap has a vent hole in it.

Jack, the older cars had a metal tube that came up along the fuel filler tube into the trunk then bent up along the inner fender well inside the trunk. I'm damned if I can remember how they terminated but I'll try and get you a picture of the one on my 65 parts car. Not tonight though since the Oilers are out to have a meal of Shark meat at 6:00 pm local so I'll be glued to the idiot box. :)

Great question Jack. I've been wondering the same thing since I got my engine running a couple of weeks ago. I capped off the return line and it runs okay but I still wonder if it's keeping the gas tank from working right.

You could vent it the same way I vent my fuel cell. I got a cheap inline filter from napa and put the in the vent line......that allows air in and out and keeps the dirt out and if you curl the line there is almost a 99% chance no fuel is gonna slosh out. Then tie the line up out of the way.

Just keep the vent higher than the tank. ;)
