Hooking up a new gas tank on the duster where a fuel cell had been used before. The vent bottle in the engine compartment is gone, but the line is there. I hooked up a filter on the end to keep anything from getting into the line/tank and give the fumes a chance vent. It looks fine, but the filter is mounted on the firewall on the passenger side.....maybe 5 inches from the headers. Is that a bad idea? I could attach a piece of fuel hose to the steel line and run that toward the front beside the radiator where I believe the ORIGINAL CHARCOAL catch can was located.

Please advise if this filter vent is dangerous where it is.

Thanks, George

i would move the filter close to the carb and if room is an issue try installing a large filter just ouside the fuel tank. and the second one after the fuel pump heading to the carb.
