Finally got the gas tank ready to install the gas tank in my 1972 Demon.

My question is what is the best paint or clear coat to use on my tank to keep it looking good.

I was thinking about using a can of Dupl Color rim coating I have sitting around

Any thoughts

Rick

I think anything would be fine if the bare steel is coated from moisture in the air.

How about white for that old school look?

Seriously, anything to protect it from moisture/corrosion would be better than nothing.

I have never seen that before

Do you have any pictures

Was it done in flat or satin

They do sell a "tank coat" made to give that original steel appearance yet cover the steel against corrosion. Eastwood sells it and maybe a few others.
Do a search, otherwise I have just clear coated the tank using a flattening agent so it's not to shinny.
