how many gallons do 70s A-body tanks hold? on the road trip today my dart seemed to get horseshit milage (318 2bbl), matter of fact it seemed to be worse then my dads 360 4bbl in his 5th:wack:

I believe they are 17gal.

Although I heard somewhere some of the early A's may have had 15gal. tanks

i looked in the owners manual and it says 16 gal but i have a hard time bieliving that. my cuzins girlfriends car has a 12 gal tank and it dont look much bigger then that one. my dads 5th has a 18gal tank and he should been fillin up pretty much the same time i was,but on the way back i had to stop and fill up twice,and he only filled up once

Check your plugs for carbon fouling. Is the inside of the tailpipe black?

checked the plugs and there a light tan color. didnt check the tailpipe
