The gasket at my sending unit is old and cracked (and leaking). Where can I get another one? I went to the local Napa supplier and they were stumped.

Finding proper fuel resistant gasket material isn't easy for this ignorant tinkerer. Anyone have info on good materials and sources. The actual making of the gasket was taught in my junior high General Shop class and I still remember how to do it. Proper materials suppliers and specifications are another matter altogether. Thanks!

advance auto has them. I got mine last year for my 74 duster and it was cheap. 5-10 bucks. fuel level sending unit gasket or lock ring kit. it worked great. They are basically a use once type deal because the tabs get bent with the pressure.

You can get new gaskets from Mancini etc.

Caution: Save your old lock ring. The new repros are made of thinner metal and do not seal. Re use your old metal lock ring for the sending unit or you will have trouble with it leaking.
