Gaskets for dual scoops (?)

I'm going to restore and install a pair of the correct dual scoops for my '70 Dart. I can't help but wonder if there should be a gasket between the scoops and the hood. Anybody have any info on this?

No gasket used.

No gasket under scoop (make sure paint on scoop and hood are well cured before installation!) but there is a big rubber donut that goes in the holes in the hood with the thick side up! this keeps water from running onto your engine when you drive in the rain!

oops -also use the holllow nuts on the inside of the hood with the black sticky sealer in the nut to seal the stud holes...
