The early green bearings with the plate crimp around the bearing sold by MP required you to remove the thrust buttons. The newer style with the snap rings don't require removal.

if its a brand new pig and has all new gears your going to want to run brand new fluid in it and then run it easy for 500 miles then change fluid again. that is straight from Richmond gear. whats a couple quarts of gear oil cost? $25? Id do it just for piece of mind.
It was bought used with only 3 years put on it,if that is true.ya i did buy new oil + Ford friction modifier for suregrip.:burnout:
now i just have to get a dial to adjust the axle play,
i usually adjust so that i can feel movement but not really see much...
