dumb question i no but im learning. whats best way to tell what gears u have?

mark your tire with chaulk or tape, also mark your u joint at the axle, jack up the rear and turn the wheel ccw trans must be in neutral, count how many times the u-joint turns at one full revolution of the tire 3 and a quarter = 3.23 3 and a half rev = 3.55 just short of 4 rev= 3.91 btw if both tires turn the same dirrection you have a suregrip.
