I'm going to have a set of #302 heads taken to the machine shop on Monday to have a valve job, machine .010, springs and anything else that may need. These are basic heads for my Ramcharger's stock 318 rebuild.
I am thinking a multi-angle cuts, but not sure what to ask for. Do I ask for a plunge cut into the bowls, what angle cuts? I usually clean them up with a 318willrun port job,but just not feeling like it for these. I will gasket match the intake ports but not much else. You head guru's, what do you suggest?
Thanks!

A good 3 angle valve job(seat area) if you want to open up the bowl area have a fourth angle of 70* added to the 3 angles aka 30/45/60 and then a 70 to open up the bowl.

Bone stock 318... 30/45/60
just ask them for a performance valve job...........then ask them what that entails.......you will know what your getting with the answer!!!!!!

If they have a machine that machines like a SERDI they can do it all in one cut
top cut, 7 1/2 between the angles, second cut maybe half the width of the 45
ask what cutters they have
do blend the bottom cut yourself bottom cut will depend on what your bowls look like 70 may work or???
cut the guides for viton seals since you are doing spring seats
new valves?
ask PRH what his thoughts- mine are 40 years old
