well i have always respected the blues but was never my thing. well im starting to pick it up more and more...

Try starting at the beginning with Robert Johnson and "Blind Dog" Willie Brown.
If you have not seen it yet, the movie Crossroads is a pretty good starter for the history of Mississippi Delta Blues.

Also chk out Steve Vai, John Mayer, and Eric Clapton.
