Glovebox clearance

I am putting my radio in my dash in my 1970 duster and i need to know how much room there is from the back of the glovebox liner to the heater box , or is this even a problem at all , my car is all apart so i cannot use my car for measurement ? Can anyone one please take a measurement for me , thanks in advance , ed aka dartman 440

Im not sure about your 70, but my 66 I had to cut my hole at the top of the box. not enough clearance on the bottom. If you cut it right, the back of your radio should rest on top of your heater box. Then just run a piece of metal from the side screws of your box to rest the front of the radio on.

from the back of the liner to the box there is not much room only an inch or two. If your going to mount a radio in the Glove box it would likely need to extend into it and not flush with the back of it. I am using my 67 barracuda as a reference and not sure if duster dart is different I doubt much if any.
