Good carb rebuild kit

I rebuilt the carter bbs on my '66 170 and it runs worse than before the rebuild. I took it back apart to see if I messed up reassembling it, but everything was fine. I'm just wondering if anybody knows of a quality rebuild kit and where I can buy it.

i learned from a jeep forum that the carter bbs is junk. i had one on my ole 71 dodge truck and cound'nt make it work. ended up getting a motorola 2100 series carb off a early eighties bronco, bought an adapter for a 1 to 2 barrel conversion and never looked back. they come in two sizes, look for the smaller one.
if you want to stay with the carter, look for a reman on e-bay, rebuilding one yourself is not a success story in my experience.

come to think of it, i might have a nearly new reman bbs laying around, i'll check.
