well here is mine
.080 over bored
.110 off the head and .030 off the block
.476 lift/246 @ .050 dur 106LSA
10:1 comp
clifford intake and hooker headers
heavily ported head by Edd J.

TF904 worked over and 8.75

daily driven and get 20mpg on the freeway

runs high 14's for now @ 3180lbs with me in it and street tires

Build yourself a decent cylinder head.
Ported, over size valves, shave it .100 for some compression.
Pick your favorite bump stick. Under 500 lift would be fine.
Offy or Clifford 4 bbl intake.
Holley 390 Or Eddy 500 carb.
Hooker or Clifford headers. 2 into 1 2.25" exhaust, with favorite muffler.
Electronic ignition.
3.55 gear or so, and your set.

Dang! Very nice, you like that combo?

yea there are somethings i would change but over all it does really good... gets 20mpg on the freeway, runs 14's on street tires and i can daily drive it...

and nobody knows what is under the hood!

dont sound to excited now! lol

Bone stock for the time being and it's a low deck 170/6
running waggin dual exhaust 2, 2 1/4 to the tail shaft to a 2 1/2 to the quite V8 muffler, Moved the battery to the turtle hull passenger side and installed a 93 Jeep fresh air filter system.
then a 2'' tail pipe, Holley 390 double pumper electronic ignition 3:23 gears daily driver.
Love it about 26 MPG and smooth as silk for now
Not a screamer but still runs 11:50 1/8 mile when needed.
Nothing to right home about.

You'll hear the name "Clifford" come up, but be very careful before you decide to spend any money with Clifford. They have a long and ugly reputation for being a bunch of clowns; see for example here, here, here, here, and here. Much of what they sell is inaccurately described, and a lot of it is not even slightly cost-effective. The good news is that you don't need to go to Clifford to get hot rod parts for slant-6s; there are lots of other, better options. See for example Dutra Duals and header options discussed in this thread and this one, Erson custom cams, HEI ignition upgrade, Mike Jeffreys windage trays, Hurricane intakes, other exotic intakes. Hi-perf engine buildup here, high-perf parts and build info here.

so what does all that cost including machine work and bearings, pistons, ect.

Yes.

Ported,over size valves

Yes.

shave it .100 for some compression

No. Just shaving this much or that much metal off the head is the wrong way to do it. You really need to calculate your combustion chamber volume accurately, factoring in the piston deck height and cylinder head gasket compressed thickness, and figure out your actual compression ratio, and then you can make a smart, informed decision as to how much to shave off the head and/or block.

3.55 gear

Optimal rear gear selection -- like camshaft selection, intake and carb selection, compression selection, and just about every other aspect of a performance build-up -- is a function of the car's parameters (weight, etc.) and how it's going to be driven. 3.55 is usually not a sound choice for a street-driven car with an automatic or non-overdrive manual transmission.

Blah....Blah...Blah....

Just giving some ideas of what can be done danny. Of course you are going to do the math for compression.
And theres nothing wrong with a 3.55 gear period.Again just giving some ideas to the OP questions, much more than you have done. Of course he can pick and chose as he goes.

Sorry, but your not the end all be all you think you are.

Hey moparkid your build sounds like mine: block decked .080, opened .030, earson cam 465 lift @ 270 dur, oil passage worked, head shaved .080, big valves, major porting by self, hurricane intake, 390 holley, pertronix ign, dual shorty headers, 8 3/4 with 3.91s, 904 rebuilt with stage2 kit. The motors still on the stand it looks so good just sitting O:). Hope to have the drivetrain in very soon.

Ok the pics didnt come up on the first one
