Today Jon raced me 2nd round in The Stock/SS race.
He lights me up with a .003 in his Demon and my poor Demon
goes back into the trailer till Fall!

Jon makes it to the finals and his opponent puts up a .004 leaving
first and Jon goes -.001 RED and settles for Runner Up at the National Open.
Both of them were each holding about 1 1/2 hundreds under the petal
the finish shows.

Yesterday there was a Jr. Dragster race and Logan gets Runner Up in
the finals breaking out by .02 (remember these are 9 year old kids still
pretty wet behind the Ears as far as Drag Racing).

His first time racing Out of State and only a year behind the wheel.

A fun weekend with the Grandkids and my boy overall!

Oh wow. You're here in Grand Junction?
Left yesterday afternoon.
The Grandkids have Vacation Bible School
this week.

I should be back next year, everyone including track
officials and the racers were very cordial to us.

Perhaps we can see you and buy Dinner!

Congrats, I imagine the competition was pretty tough. Has John retired the road runner stocker?

No Sir:

But we have 5 Stock Eliminator cars and 3 Superstock cars in
our shop plus a customer's car who lives in Sweden that we
maintain and bring to the National Races.

This particular race combined Stock and SS together and did not
allow double entries. So, we only brought our two stockers and
Logan's Jr. To get a grade point in Stock we entered our Demons
in the Sat. race in Stock. Jon was # 2 Qualifier and I was #3 on
the ladder. On Sun we entered the two Demon in SS to get a Grade Point
in Superstock (You need 8 pts. in each to make sure you qualify for Natl.
races).

Although our Demons are only lowly Stocker and not with all the major mods
for SS, Jon was still #6 qualifer and I was # 9 on the ladder. We are fortunate enough that our
stock eliminator cars a some of just a few Stockers that are fast enough to race
competitively in SS without any modifications except the class on the window.

We could have been faster both days, but the corrected altitude was 8,600ft. above
Sea Level and we just did not feel like doing the changes need to go fast at that
elevation for a once a year race. The cars were stumbling and blubbering like a pair
of Fat Pigs!!

One of our friends Steve who bought my son Robbie's 400 73 roadrunner will come
back and run our new 73 Roadrunner the second 1/2 of the season. Several of our
other buddies rent (It is not Free) the Aspen 318 Wagon.
