Finally got most of the inner fender patches welded in the Cuda mon. eve. Did some finish grinding on them this afternoon and it's lookin good. Especially since I had to hand make them since you can't buy inner fenders for this car anymore. 2 more patches and a little filler and paint and it's ready for the suspension to go back in and then the engine and trans. The suspension parts and engine are done so that's a plus. I always said I'd rebuild a car someday. Never thought I'd turn 40 first!! Wow was this stuff easier 20 yrs. ago.

I'm all excited. Cant' wait to drive it. Had it for 2-1/2 yrs. and still haven't driven it.

Ok I finally got some pictures taken but how the heck do you post them???

First off you will need a picture host, i use picturetrail.com.
Mikelbeck has a picture host sight i think it's called linkedimages.com i didn't get chance to sign for that one yet.

Hopefully this will come out right. We'll see.

Go to www.picturetrail.com/fishy68 and you'll see the pictures of the patches. You will notice some big holes there yet. That's because I have to finish the firewall extensions before we can weld in the inner fender patches. But at least it's coming along.

Thanks Duster. I've been wrenching since I got my first car at 15 (I'm 41 now) but this is my first attempt at welding in panels. Actually I made the panels but a buddy did the welding. I'm doing the finishing. It was tedious getting the panels bent correctly so they would lay correctly and look right and have a minimal ammount of filler. Hope to get the rest welded in this week or next.

Looks good! :thumleft:

I'm doing basically the same as you with my Duster, replacing the top of the right side and some small pieces in the left side.
I got mine from Auto Body Specialties,i should have made my own because they are not as heavy as the originals but hopefully it will come out alright.

Here's mine.

I saw where I could buy the pieces you replaced Evilscamp but unfortunately my firewall extensions were badly rusted also. There would've been nothing to weld the inner fender too. I'm also running low on funds so that's another reason why I hand made my own. Only cost me $5 for the piece of sheet metal. At least on the inner fenders I only have to make pieces about 5 inches wide. And the pieces behind the control arms are easy.
