Gremlins cutting into drive time.

Seems like my car is possessed lately. I have a thread going about a transmission problem that should be an easy fix, but not. Yesterday I was getting gas and heard fuel spilling under the car. Torn fuel tank grommet, again. Looks like I might need another filler tube as this is the second time. It tore right out and the tube is jammed at the top of the tank. I wonder if a muffler shop can bend the pipe to the proper angle. Shimming the tank was a temporary fix.

Is it just my luck, or dealing with a forty year old car?

It is a ***** to get them even a new grommet and seated. Took 3 of us last time.
