grill interchange

need info on going from a 1973 style dart grill and bumper to an earlier style .the 73 has a shorter hood and something that runs across from fender to fender,and the bumper is too bulky and sticks out to far in my opinion,i like the earlier style small bumper with valance ,and dont know which grill styles i would prefer,but any will be better. my project has no grill in it or bumper ,or headlight surrounds,but from what i have seen in pictures,tells me i prefer the ealier style.any help is much appreciated. marty
