I did a forum search for this, but didn't find anything, so I thought I'd point out the link:
It seemed to me that the castings on that early BB were the same, or at least pretty similar, to those on my end-of-production 440.
The production code on the block of my late 440 is: 8T 440 E 1221
I know the 8T means 1978, and "E" means cast crank, but how do you interpret the date code of "1221"??
