How do the dual exhaust sound compared to the 273 single exhaust resonated tip

The single exhaust resonated tip (red car) is very quiet. The duals are much louder. Not sure what exhausted the blue car has it’s got a nice sound though. The white car has a new set of flow masters on it and they are loud but sound good.

Just got the white one my wife wanted it to complete the red white and blue theme. Read the block casing on it over the weekend, it has a 69 318 in it it was advertised as a 273 2 bbl but no harm no foul. Actually opens up some options.

The red one is an unrestored untouched FS in excellent condition. The blue one is also an FS with what I would call a budget restoration but it turned out pretty good. The upside is all the original parts were used.

I’m gonna post some questions on the white cars 318 later.

I remember back in high school the local Country Club had a 273 four-speed Commando 65 Barracuda and it had the single exhaust resonator that crackled and was loud and sounded very throaty

Yes I understand the 65s were very loud and the exhaust was changed mid-year I believe. Mine is a 66 and they were definitely quieter although I’ve thought about taking the the muffler off. Its its kinda nice the way it is - most of my other cars are loud
