My Dad was a Marine in WWII. Made three beacheads in the Pacific Theater to survive and have ten kids, of which I'm the last. If they didn't drop the bomb, he would have had to make a fourth landing, which probably would have been his last. He passed in 1997. I'll never forget him.
When he passed, he left me his captured Japanese rifle (a Arisaka 77 with bayonet). It's all I have left. I had the head space checked an fired off seven rounds in his honor on the 4th of July in 2000. Too bad I live in the city now! I still have pictures of him with the rifle and a captured Japanese flag on one of the islands during WWII.
Please people! Don't forget what these men and women have done for us! Show your support an go to your local Veterans Day Parade! Thanks mopar marc!
