I just noticed that since today is the Sunday before Labor Day, it has been exactly two years ago tonight that we found FABO, the 340 Demon Kitty, and took her up to Karl so he could get her the medical care she needed. She is still doing very well, and I don't even like to imagine what would have happened to her if either we hadn't found her, or if the wonderful people on this site hadn't chipped in to save her life. All of us in this household (two legged and four legged) are forever grateful for all of your help, and while she may live with us, she belongs to all of you as well!

She looks great! Very happy.

Glad to see her in a good loving home. She deserves it. She's so sweet.

If you didn't find her, the infection would have spread up her leg and eventually killed her. It was because of you and Angie caring enough to catch her and seek help, that we were able to save her and her leg from being lost.

It was also because of Dr. Loxtercamp explaining that we could track the infection with x-rays and taking a chance to try to save her leg instead of blindly amputating it like the first vet was trying to convince us to do. I like Dr. Loxtercamp because he tells me what is going on, and what options we have available, and willing to take a risk to save the leg. This is why I always request him when I make appointments for my pets. Not only that, he's trained to work on reptiles, birds, and other exotic pets in addition to the "standard cats and dogs"....

He saved one of my Dalmatians from an "early exit". One day he was having trouble urinating, only drops were coming out. I took him to Dr. Loxtercamp, and he found that my dog had urinary crystals that were clogging his urinary tract and "cleaned him out" and put him on a special diet and pills to keep him going until his legs finally became too weak to stand anymore two years later and we had to put him down....

He's an excellent vet. I knew that he could help FABO.

And all of the FABO members who donated what they could to help pay for her bills. It kept my out of pocket expenses to an affordable limit. We had donations from all over the globe with people from US, Canada, and Australia donating. It was great to see everybody pulling together to help her.

Not to mention FABO Kitty herself. Her strong will to live and fight for her life. I was amazed how she healed. There was a splinter of bone sticking out from the break that Dr. Loxtercamp was concerned about in the early x-rays. His concern was that it was so sharp, it could poke into her muscles and be painful. Two to three weeks later, the splinter had healed itself to a little nub with a radius on the end, no sharp end to poke her. I don't know how her body knew it was there and how it was able to heal itself without any human influence. It was incredible. She's one tough kitty that put up a hell of a fight to live.... She deserves to be in a loving home where she can live a long and happy life, which she has now.

I remember seeing the look of concern and worry disappear from Angie's face when I returned FABO kitty and she saw how well she was doing. It was as if FABO was Angie's own child. She took the kitten and cuddled her in her coat with her to keep her warm. She was so happy to get FABO back. I knew she was going to be ok.

Thanks for posting the pictures. FABO has gotten so big, and looks great.

Two years has flown by. It was a great time here on the site when we all pitched in what we could and helped save the poor little kitten. She has grown into a beautiful cat and I'm glad she's in a loving home too!
Happy Birthday to FABO's mascot!
