Hardened Seats

I need a little help with dates of hardened
seats (Mopar Heads). As I recall all Mopar motors converted to hardened seats (and as I recall all Mopar V8s were )in 1978. But was that the first or were any changed earlier. I appreciate the help.

One of my Mopar Performance books said that if you were going to use (I think) pre-72 heads you would have to convert to hardened seats. I'm pretty sure it was pre-72 but not positive. I'll look fopr the info in my books & try to post something definitive as soon as I find it, hopefully in the next couple of days.
