Head dilemma

use a marker and mark the seat, then with lapping compound..lap the seat so u can see it in the pics. It will also help you see how much u need to go with opening the bowl below the seat.

doing good man

I'm getting back to the heads. I had a small tendinitis and had to leave them alone for a while.

I finished the intake bowls and started to port the port itself. I'm not really secure about what to do with the ssr... I just smoothed out the angles to the port floor and the walls. I'll post some pics later.

Its kinda hard to explain how to shape the short turn without showing you in person.

it should come out just a hair from the seat, then round to straight up 'but still curving' 90* from seat and then halfway up it should lay back to the top, blending in with the peak/floor.

keep it tall and yet still rounded.

and widen the top of the turn by working the straight wall at/above it.

I found a picture of a sliced head, the yellow line is what I did.

(1) I did a wider throat because of the bigger valve, and just blended it to the ssr.

(2) I blended the "rough" angles without changing the shape.

(3) I widened the straight wall but just a little. And raised the roof just a little too, like 0.06".
