I've had my 69 340 dart for a couple years already, and I finally got enough time to work on it this summer. I'm quite new with this engine stuff, so i was wondering if the washers included included with the ARP head bolts need those washer things included on while i do the torque down specs at 85 lbs per feet.

Thanks
Ryan

Yes, The washers are hardened metal and provide a surface that has less friction so that the torque applied results in more even clamping force. You should also run a chasing tap in the holes in the block and clean them out. Also, use ARP's lube and follow there torque requirements not mopars.

Alright, thanks Dave. Can't wait to put it on. I've had my swinger 340 4 spd since 8th grade and finally about 8 years later, my dreams are coming true. Will probably posting up quite frequently but will search the board before asking my noob questions!

Thanks
Ryan
