Header for 72 318 dart

Is there a cheap header that won't hit the stearing link?

Nope

Seriously though, the thing about cheap headers is that it doesn't hurt as much when you have to ding them for clearance.
The engine can be adjusted around a little as well, but really the biggest issue is the ones that hang down below the K frame and use one of the tubes like a sled on the pavement. (most of the cheaper types)

They will fit........ With modifications to the steering shaft and shimming the motor mounts. Another $150 and you can have coated Dougs. I have run both these headers and the Dougs are far superior.

Don't think the linked shorties are coated.

Get a set of Dougs D453 from autozone when they have a 20% off discount or call summit/jegs and have them price match it.
