hey guys. does anyone know how to get the knob off my headlight switch in my 63 valiant. im trying to take the switch out to wire up the car, but i cant get the knob off. i see the wiper one has a screw but i dont see anything on the light switch. i thought it just pulls off, but i cant get it to budge.

If I remember right, there should be a button on the back side of the switch, behind the dash panel. If you push the button, the entire knob and knob shaft come out. It's not like the windshield wiper knob. At least this is the way it is on my 64, so should be pretty much the same.

easy does it, the knob comes out with the shaft attached. if I remember right towards the back of the switch theirs a hole or space to put a screwdriver in and push up to disengage the shaft. If you buy a new switch, you have to retain your knob and shaft.

pull the knob out to the headlights on position, then push the lil' button about halfway up the switch on the oposite side of the wiring connector,"viola"
