Well, here’s my thoughts. A head rest’s primary function is to prevent injury and whiplash during crash and is for protection not for resting your head while driving. If you are experiencing pain in your neck I would explore physio, posture examination and muscle strengthening to alleviate your pain.

Looks like you did a good job. Nice addition for doing more than short trips in an older car

Well you’re probably not 67years old and definitely don’t have low back seats or you would understand . That’s why their called “Headreasts”.

Yes, a car headrest is technically called a
head restraint, a crucial safety device designed to prevent whiplash by limiting backward head movement in rear-end collisions, not just for comfort. While commonly called headrests, their primary function is restraint, requiring proper adjustment (close to the head, aligned with the ears) for maximum effectiveness against neck injuries, even in low-speed crashes.

Don’t take it personally but you’re wrong. But for what it’s worth Your head restraints look good, sort of period correct.

Just for the record-

If you ever see a mid 80's Dodge 400/600 or the Plymouth/Chrysler equivalent models in a U-pull yard, go look at the seats.

The look very much like 1966-1969 A/B body seats but with a slight bolster on the sides.

The "head rests" look almost identical.

...and they recline.

The bad part is that the track is slightly wider.

I saw a NOS set at the nats last year $1200.
my 67 broadcast sheet also says, passenger/ driver also .
Why anyone would order just a pass one?
