Lets, not make this political.
I'm out of the parts business, but I have friends that are still in. I was having lunch with a couple of my friends, they say they were advised that a lubricant shortage is on the horizon.
If you're thinking about buying motor oil, you may want to think faster. Unlike gasoline, lubricating oil prices haven't caught up with the current shortages, yet.
Apparently Autozone will increasing their price structure very soon. One of Mopar's bulk oil suppliers sent a memo to their customers, warning then that a "significant" price hike is coming.
I went out and bought enough oil to cover two oil changes for each of my vehicles today.
With this looming price increase, and First America Brands filing for bankruptcy, oil changes are gonna get damned expensive.

Thanks for the warning. We knew it was coming. The only car I change oil in any more is My Barracuda. At 75, I just don't feel like crawling under the car to save a few bucks, and then I have to go and dispose of the oil. I'm sure that the cost of my oil changes will go up a lot.

Hopefully by the time my stock runs out, the price will be back down after the supply issues get straightened out...
