I have a set of X-heads that I am going to use in the future. The chambers have some minor pitting and I would like to clean them up.

What is an acceptable way for the home do-it-yourselfer to get them smooth again?

sand paper rolls on a die grinder. Just watch out for the valve seats.

That's what I was thinking Adam. I'm not worried about the seats, they have to be replaced.

A while back on my 383 heads, I used existing valves and did a "newfie grind" LOL Used valve grinding hand tool and valve grinding compound. Seemed to work just fine
