Heat box door installation

Hi folks,

I am going through the Evaporator / heater box on my 67 Dart. Most of the various air or temp doors have installtion stuck to one or both sides. As you may know, it has just turned to powder and must be replaced.

Without this on the doors they have a tingy metal noise when they shut among other things. What are y'all using to replace this stuff?

I'm doing that to my heater/air boxes now.

Here's what I did,went to the home depot,lowes or hardware and bought the sponge rubber thats sticky on one side.

It comes in different sizes/thicknesses and I founf all I needed at my local hardware.
