Hey guys, wanted to get your input on something. Just about to put my 340 back together again and when test fitting the new air gap intake I noticed this, the intake doesn’t cover the upper “horseshoe” part of the crossover. I had expected to have this sealed off by the gasket but I didn’t expect the intake to not even cover the hole! Everything else seems to line up such as the ports and bolt holes. Can I just leave it like this or would you recommend I fill the hole with something?

Thanks!

It stays open. The crossover port is blocked off by the gasket.

The existing open Horseshoe is designed go be open and let the heat out of that area of the head.
