I have been thinking about running one of these:

I have been having some heat soak issues with my edelbrock 1406. I wanted to run a 1/2 spacer but I wouldn't be able to shut my hood with my setup. My concern is shouldn't these gasket be a four hole instead of the split? My current gasket is a four hole. Does it make any difference which way I go? Has anyone had any luck with these.

Thanks for any info.

I had heat soak issues with edelbrock avs 650 until I slipped one of those gaskets in and no more problems! I am also running a rpm intake so I had to go with a drop base filter housing.

I also used phenolic washers under the flat washers to help insulate from any heat transfer.

Those Edelbrock insulator gaskets work really well.

I have the gasket but which way does it go on? The intake is a edelbrock performer duel plane with performer carb. Does the line dividing the gasket in the middle seal against the line in the middle of the intake opening? Or is it flipped horizontaly?

Thanks
