I came across this trans on my local CL, he has just about every part needed (trans, bellhousing, clutch, z bar, pistol grip shifter...) to swap it into my Duster and the price is pretty reasonable. He claims it is out of a B body with a 440, but the trans sure looks like an A body one to me.

I've searched online quite a bit, all I could find is that it is from April 1972. Is there any other info you guys can get from these numbers? Would this work behind a 550 horse 440?

looks like an abody a833 with an e body shifter to me. 1970 and later synchro rings

So I would just need the shift linkage from an A body to get that to work? I might go take a look at it then. Thanks. And I noticed that I posted in the wrong transmission forum.

only thing to watch out for would be if it was a overdrive.
you would need a different z-bar, possible clutch fork, might be able to use the shifter handle and pad. shifter too depending.
you would have to verify pretty much everything.
10.5 flywheel? looks neutral balanced

2A in the partial VIN, so the main case came from a 1972 B body. (no A bodies built at Lynch Road for 1972 models)
