OK, I am looking for an intake manifold that will be date coded to my engine.
2205968 is correct for a 1962-67 383.
The problem I am having is for 67, the date codes are not the same as the later codes. The later codes appear to be in the normal date format, such as 6*9*69, (June 9, 1969).
For 67, the date codes have 2 numbers and a letter, the only letter I have seen is an X.

So, for example, what does this date code represent: 9X22

You have a 1962-1967 383+4 intake manifold. Sept 22? Any other numbers on the manifold?

I don't have one, yet, but I want to get one except I have no idea what the date codes mean.
If a 383-4 intake for 1962-67 is part number 2205968, then the date codes can't be month/day, correct?

The all appear to have a 4 and some symbols that are the same as well.

I checked e-bay and found 3 with these codes:
9X22
10X15
5-3

This one has great pics but no other codes than the original pic I posted:

This pic is the 5-3 one: (??)

Anyone?
Should I buy a book from Galen?

I have the same problem with my 1970/71 model 383s intake manifolds. Date code 9X15 and 6-13. On my 440s and 340s intake manifolds it’s normal date codes with month day year codes. How can this be?

If nobody knows how to decode the damned things, how would someone know it's not right...just sayin'
