Help me identify where my 73 340 came out of

I have a 1973 340

Block Casting Number 2780930-340-6

Block vin 3B31007

Casting date 2-8-1973

You're missing one number from the partial VIN. It should have 6 numbers after the 3B. Whatever it is, it more than likely came from a Duster, Dart Sport, Challenger or Cuda since it was in a Hamtramck built car.

While it would be cool to know what it's from, unless you want to find the original car, it's not a big deal as all those engines are the same. That's a nice cast crank, low comp. engine that would make a really good/peppy cruiser with just a good cleanup/rebuild.
