Ok - I dumping my pride and asking. How do I get this clip off without kinking it or otherwise ruining it?
Help needed. I'm stumped.

It shouldn't matter if you buckle it a little getting it off - not like nayone will be looking at that end of your remote mirror control. I haven't had mine apart but by looking at it, I'd lubricate the area, get a large spanner at the base and an appropriate sized socket at the and see if it can be gentally tapped out
