Is there a way to get the big harmonic balancer bolt off without a big air compressor? My weak compressor is not wanting to budge it and the engine turns over when using a breaker bar....it's a 340.

My water pump went out, while I have the pump and radiator off I figured I would swap in my Fluidamper. Thanks for the help! :glasses7:

Stop the flywheel/flexplate from moving and you can easily get it off with a breaker bar.

Like they said. Use a flat tip screw driver in the teeth on the torque converter/flywheel to keep it from turning the engine over.

I tried last time to loosen the bolt with the radiator in, had to use a long extension and a swivel to get in there at an angle, wouldn't budge.... Suppose it lost alot of torque.....I just got it off now after pulling the radiator and was able to get the impact directly on the nut, spun it off! Thanks guys, I should have tried it again before posting but maybe this thread can help someone else in the future :glasses7:

This may not be an option....
I use a socket with breaker bar against the frame rail and bump the starter.

Yea what RedFish said use a 1/2 drive socket and a breaker bar against the left side frame rail disable the ignition so the engine will not start, and if you have a remote starter switch make sure the car is in park or neutral and tap the starter over and it will break the crane loose if you don't have the remote starter switch you will need another set of hands to turn the key, but you will need to block the flywheel to torque the bolt back to the factory spec. Good Luck

I have also jammed a screwdriver in the flex plate and turned it until it stopped the crank from turning, then you can apply more torque to remove the bolt without turning the crank...
