Hey all:

i have been sitting on a mostly complete but somewhat apart 383 formula S fastback, with just a small rust hole in the fire wall. The car does include the original block. does not have the original tranny or rear end. car is orange now, but appears to have been a dark plum/red ish color.

If I decide to sell it, any thoughts on it's value?

Thanks!

old car price guide oct 08 issue

67 barracuda

add 10% for Formula S and 40% for 383 cid

#6 $960 (parts only)
#5 $2880 (parts/restorable not driveable)
#4 $4800 (driver/older restoration)
#3 $10800 (nice driver)
#2 $16800 (restored or original in very good condition)
#1 $24000 (restored trailer queen)

pick the # that fits the car and use the % to come up with an estimate to the value

Is the fender tag still there? What does it say? What trans, etc etc

It is there, but it's been sitting in one of my garages for 10 years, so I don't remember....i'll look and let you know

I'll guess. $5k without too much problem just cause the #'s engine is there. $7.5k if it's got the right exhaust manifolds and radiator, just as it sits to the right guy. Of course this is from your vague description, pictures will help tell the true value as will a buyer. What do YOU think the car is worth?

Any car, including your own, is only worth what a person would pay, at a given point in time.

Be honest, this is a TERRIBLE time to try to unload even the best of cars.

Consider that, and if you are serious, get the car professionally appraised by a known expert.

Good luck.

I think the market is still good for "good" cars. I have sold two since spring and I'd say I got what people would consider old market value for them.

thanks guys!

I'm fiscally a realist, so I look at it and say, a complete rebuild would be about 30K, and the car would only be worth 25-30 as a complete show car, so.......
