Seems every track you go to has different "Language" for differant classes of drag's--So when building a car do you strictly go by NHRA rule book when building a car from scratch???? We are going to RSD on Friday night at a local track and are going to pick up a rule book and also take the Duster (street) down the track a few times. Also does the rule book spell out exactly what each class needs????? example if we run sportsman do we need a full interior in the car????? if we run pro do we need a 8 point cage or a 6 point cage--Does it spell this all out??? THanks Steve

Its your choice most of the time, but your ET will determine alot. My experience is sportsman cars run exhaust, lap belt, no cage or roll bar. I would use nhra or ihra rule book for ET safety requirements first. Then determine where you fit in at each track. I run 11.70's at 113mph. I have 5 point belts, 8 point chrome moly cage, steel firewall between trunk and cabin, batt cut off, long wheel studs, jacket, pants, fire exting, ect. I run pro at most events, some places call it hod rod.
