I wanted to share this HHR we built for a customer of ours, yes it is a Chebbie but its an awesome ride. It started out as a "totaled" 08 hhr that was brought to us by a customer that wanted to build a bad *** hot rod out of it. He wanted rear wheel drive with a stroked out small block chevy. We started by removing the front wheel drive engine and transmission, front and rear suspension, and cut the entire floor and firewall out of the car. We used an S10 frame for the front half of the chassis and a chris alston four link back half with a 9" ford axle. We integrated the frame with the body to make it a unibody style chassis. We built everything from scratch. We retained the entire original interior and dash. Looking at the car you would never know what was residing under the hood, well besides the big old drag radials out back oh and the sound coming from it lol. The car is a beast! Engine dynoed out to 512 horsepower at the crank. Its backed by a full manual hughes turbo 400 with a 3000 stall convertor. There are so many things to list about what we have done to the car so I will just let the pictures speak for themselves. Let me know what you guys think!

That is awesome!!! I have always thought of doing that to an HHR. Glad to see someone did it and such a good job at that.

Few more in process pics.

It is beautiful, even if it is a chebbie, i can't imagine how much your customer spent to get that, at least he will be the only one with that at any car shows he goes to, that one is sure a 1 off original. Now do one like this to make us Mopar proud:

Great work! The '55 tail lights look really nice on that body style.
