Hello, I have a 75 duster and putting in a 440 with a 727 trans and I have the 7 1/4 rear in it now. I read somewhere that a 68 to 70 b body axle would work and bring out the wheels a little better. My question is I found an 85 8 1/4 rear out of a fury would that fit? Does anybody have the measurements from a B body 68 to 70 rear axle? Thanks, Dan

The "Fury" is probably a "Gran Fury".
Those were essentially the same as a Diplomat or a Fifth Avenue.
The width is fine. The leaf spring perches will need to be removed and welded back at 43" apart center to center.
Those cars that had these axles often had really TALL gears...Like 2.21, 2.45 or 2.76. The cost of a gear swap might kibosh the deal though.

Thanks for the info. This is what the guy said that's
selling it. Rear Axle, Mopar 8-1/4 Posi / Sure-Grip , Drum to drum with 11" drum brakes , 2.9 Ratio , Came from approx 1985 police car (Fury/Newport)
