Hi all

A friend of mine told me that the correct VR up to 1970 is black with yellow lettering :

And it became unpainted with blue/white/red Mopar logo in 1971.

Some sellers claim that the VR has been black up to 1974.

Who's right?

This the VR on my 75 Scamp which is original. It was black in 1975. While the lettering is mostly worn, there appears to be part of a ‘4’ visible which means it was made sometime in 1974. My Scamp was made in early 1975.

Thanks a lot
I see that the part # is different. It begins with 3755. Can you read it in totality ?
The full number is 3755960 and the model application is for all factory installed except with 100 amp alternator.

Have found the 3755960 regulator date code 374 on a early 1975 model. That would be the 37nd week of 1974, which would be September 8th thru 14th. Build date on the car was October 1974, which would be a early 75 model.

Silver usually 75 and up. There are three different black styles white, green or yellow ink post 72 also one has a button dimple on it very expensive and hard to find. 70-72 Usually tell by the first three on the part numbers.
