I wonder if these would have any value? Looks like there is some shaped cards in there. Anyone care to hazard a guess on value. Unopened case. Thanks. Kim

Maybe?? Once Upper Deck and everyone else started flooding the market the values dropped. Mass production didn't help.
Rookie cards are where value is at obviously.

I'm sitting on a crap load of basketball cards including some rare Michael Jordan cards. I'm just not motivated enough to explore selling them.

And yea Upper Deck killed the market as stated above.

Just like cars...there are value guides for these.

"Beckett" is one brand.

I've got a lot of baseball and hockey. Dad n I had a collection together, Dad mostly bought new and I would buy older ones from 70's and 80's. I had a chance to buy a Bernie Parent Maple Leafs card, I think it was his rookie. Went for $100, I passed on it, bit a pretty cool card. That was about 10-15 years ago.

I believe Beckett at one point was "involved" in over valuations of cards at one point. But Beckett was the go to price guide.

I have cards from the 70s. Sadly some I pasted in a scrap book. Some are decent shape but some not so much. I do have 80s and 90s cards also. Kim

Im reviving this thread to see if his value goes up as the Caps are in the second round. I have this from their championship. Kim

Nah, that`s soccer or football for the rest of the world.
Hocky you get your teeth knocked out and get the **** beat out of you, and still able to return to the game after time out? I don`t watch it myself.

Yeah kinda like Australian rugby. Those guys are brutal.

I like to describe hockey as "football hits on a baseball game schedule".

Yeah, guys getting stitches and returning to the game is not at all uncommon.

The guy at the sports shop here figures that we should open them up to have a look to see exactly what I have. Is that the way to go? Thanks Kim

Open what up? I see a Stephenson photo? And the red/white banner?
May as well open them, 99%,of cards nowadays are $1 cards, unless ltd edition or rookies. If they are Tim's, may as well open them, the prizes are time LTD.
Tim Hortons can take a flying fack, I just bought 2 of their "binders"@ $20 each for grandbabies to enjoy....yep this years Rookie Cards cards are already cancelled lol.

I was walking home from gradeschool in the late '60s when I found a bundle wrapped in brown paper, and my ten-year-old mind told me it was probably a brick of hundred-dollar bills. Got home and it turned out to be several hundred baseball cards. I liked baseball but had no interest in the cards, so I gave them away.

Since then, I've often wondered what cards were in there that I could have retired on fifty years later. I've also wondered about the multitude of other things that could have been under that plain brown paper.

Judging by 2nd photo, thats an asst of cards, so they have been opened. OVI may be mint, but it's been opened as it's in a hard case.
As I mentioned before, unless it's a rookie, not a lot of value. Fleer/Ultra are/were the lower value ones. Topps and Opeechee WERE the go to value cards. Compare Fleer vs Topps on ebay, you will see the difference.
Ebay is where you will get evaluation.

Steve, go to the top

So you’re saying that they have been opened because they’re in a hard case? Thats what your telling me?

Im not up on cards, but pretty sure all card mfg's sell them in pkg's not in hard cases, maybe I'm wrong? Maybe I'm seeing pics wrong? The 2nd pic looks like a case with different sized cards?

It’s all the same case just from different angles. Idt it’s ever been opened. But I guess it’s possible someone boxed them up. Idk when I got them either.
