Hi folks,

I have a holley 1850-3 that I am putting on my 318. Just wondering where my vacuum lines are vs fuel return

Any help is greatly appreciated!

No fuel return. Single fuel line hookup.

The vacuum advance connects to a 1/8" nipple on the primary metering block (right side of the carb). PCV should connect to a 3/8" nipple on the carb base. If you're running a thermostatically controlled air cleaner, there should probably be a 1/8" nipple on the carb base, otherwise cap all unused ports.

Ok I think I got the lines ok. I found a diagram I online.

Now I am getting some flame through the carb. I had to move my distributer to get my old manifold off. I was 95% sure I put it back in the same place but now she won't fire?? I have lossened it back up to try advance/retard but still no luck.

Am I out a gear(s)??

If you didn't remove the oil pump drive, you can only reinstall the distributor 2 ways; the correct way and 180 out. Sounds like you're 180 out.

Got it going. It was really set back had to advance it a lot lol. Now just to fine tune the carb.

Do 1850's perform well lean or rich?
