When I first got my slant running again, after it was sitting for years, it had a terrible hezitation, so i rebuilt the carb with new jets and new seals and a new needle and seat, and it still has the hezitation! i tinkered with the mixture, the timing, but no luck! the only mods 2 the engine is electronic ignition.

Sounds like the accelerator pump is not working. Did you take it out and make sure the pump cam and pushrod are in good shape? Does the car have an electronic voltage regulator? Mechanical regulators will fry the control box on the electronic ignitions. Hope this helps.

I just replaced the carb with a newer rebuilt Carter carb
and now it works flawlessly.

that shows how good holly carbs are compared to eldebrock

Thats odd.
Back when I was tinkering with a 1 bbl slant six car my 1920 worked flawlessly.

They work fine but the floats drop as that weak little spring collapses under the float and then they piss gas all over your manifold and the car reeks of gas and runs lousey.Other than that they work fine (for a while)
