Man I love old license plates. It turns out they make great heat shields. I made these two over the last couple weeks just for the hell of it. Ours in South Carolina aren't stamped so they're nice and flat and easy to work with. I've got about an hour in making both of them. I cut them out to shape with some tin snips, sanded down the edges, then sanded the big flat surfaces up to a 1500 grit. I didnt have any clear but at some point I will probably take them off and shoot them. Anyway- just an idea for ya.

THANK YOU !!!!

That's excatly what I need for my master cyl'. Since going to the dual chamber it was getting too hot of late and expanding the brake fluid which caused the brakes to be applied. I did a Rube Goldberg affair and was waiting for inspiration for a perm' solution; now I have it.

Your welcome! Anything I could do to keep some that big block from roasting my fuel and brake fluid was a good idea in my mind.
