So, I made what I thought was an amazing dolly using the Harbor Freight furniture dollies. When it came to removing the engine/trans from my parts car, it worked wonderfully. However, when I wanted to separate and remove the engine from the trans to put them on engine stands, I ran into a problem: I placed two dollies incorrectly under the forward section lengthwise under the K-frame instead of side by side under the K-frame part of the dolly. The problem I ran into is that my cherry picker cannot maneuver to get under the engine.
Ultimately, I ended up bringing the engine of the K-frame a little sideways. It worked, but I wouldn't be able to put it back on the K-frame like that. So I plan to turn the dollies 90 degrees so that they're narrower under that section and I'll be able to get the cherry picker under it.
Just wanted to put this out there for anyone that's going to use Harbor Freight furniture dollies to build a K-frame dolly. I didn't even think about getting my cherry picker under there when I built this. Otherwise, it worked great.
