Hood bracing adhesive

After 50ish years with the last 28 years being on my drag car the outer hood metal has came loose from the underside bracing. Only noticeable when shutting the hood it rattles some. What have you guys used to help hold the 2 back together? It's a factory steel hood.

I have used body seam sealer in a caulk gun in the past.

The factory used blobs of "dum dum" putty. I found some online and just rolled balls, flattened them and shoved them between the inner braces and the top sheet wherever it seemed necessary. Totally cured the hood shake and it isn't visible under the insulation pad.

This has happened to my 69 Barracuda as well. It's in a resto shop now and owner has recommended panel bond adhesive. I think that's what I'm going with.

You could also use sikaflex
