hood hinges

I switched from a fiberglass lift off to a steel hood. I had the hinges painted and I did the hood in duponts hot rod black. Looks great. I put the hinges on and the hood, but my problem is It won't close. Could the paint and primer be keeping the hinges working. If so and suggestions? Thanks Jerry

Have to have a lot of paint built up for that to happen best I can tell

Sprayed them with the fix all wd40 and today they work. Thanks for the input.
