I think the hood inserts on a 68 barracuda were black in the bottom of the grooves. How far up the grooves were they black? In other words, was just the bottom of the grooves black or did it come up the sides also? thanks
To the best of our knowledge black paint was sprayed through a divider grate to paint the insert. From the factory the paint on the sides was basically overspray.
From a restoration point of view the factory never brush painted the bottom, but it definately looks nicer that way.
OV is exactly right the vertical sides of the grooves had overspray on them and after a few good cleanings would rub off leaving just the bottom of the groove black
